Next Show is Hawkes Bay A& P Show on the 20th October 2017
We attended the 2017 National Alpaca Show in Feilding on the 22nd through to the 24th September with some great results.
Completing with our alpacas at this year’s prestigious National Alpaca Show in Feilding. The annual show saw 338 alpacas competing in the breed section, Nevalea Janeva won 1st place in her junior class and was awarded Reserve Champion overall. Nevalea Iory received a 2nd placing in his Intermediate class and was awarded Reserve Champion overall. Nevalea Knight won 1st place in the Junior Black Male and Nevalea Joker 4th place in the same class and Nevalea Jungle won 1st place in the Intermediate Brown Male class. Nevalea Kershaw received 3rd place in the Junior White Males class. The competition was very strong with large numbers in various sections.
The Fleece competition had 198 Fleeces, with local breeder Nevalea Alpacas winning Champion Light Fawn, with their alpaca Nevalea Jasmine’s fleece, also winning a 1st with Nevalea Jett in the Junior Black Fleeces, a 2nd place with Nevalea Hula’s fleece in the Adult Black Female class and a 3rd place with Nevalea Imogen in the Intermediate White Female class.
Alongside the animals competing there was 56 entries in the Absolutely Fabulous Fibre Creations competition, which saw our knitter Kellie, winning the Machine Knitted section with her Dress and fascinator design and a Highly Commended on her alpaca blanket.
An overall great result for team Nevalea taking away a number of trophies and ribbons for the weekend.
We attended the North Island Colourbration Show in Hamilton on the 8th April with some great results.
Nevalea Janeiro awarded 1st for Junior Black Female and also later awarded Champion Black Female. And Nevalea Jasmine awarded 1st for her Junior Light Fawn Fleece and also taking out Champion Light Fawn Female Fleece.
Nevalea Jai and Nevalea James received 2nd placing in their sections. Nevalea Jungle, Nevalea Josie and Nevalea Juno taking home a 3rd each.
We also took home many 1st and 2nd placings in the Finished Fleece Competition across a range of catagories for our designer knitwear
We attended the Morrinsville Show on the 4th March 2017 with our alpacas

With Nevalea Isadora receiving 1st place for her Fleece in the Black Junior Section and also taking out Champion Black Fleece.
Nevalea Isadora also received 1st place for her Intermediate Black Fleece.
Nevalea Jones received 2nd place for his Junior Brown Fleece
Nevalea Essence received 2nd place for her Mid/Darl Fleece in the Senior Fleece section
Our alpacas competed at Egmont Show on 18th November 2016, our last show for 2016

Our alpacas competed for the first time at the Manawatu A&P Show on Saturday 5th November 2016 with pleasing results.

We had a great time catching up with other alpaca breeders at the Royal Hawkes Bay A&P Show on Friday, Thanks Sarah & Peter for an enjoyable show. We took 10 alpacas and we came home with 11 ribbons.
Kellie was successful at the recent National Alpaca Show in Christchurch, in the creative fibre section being awarded the Ashford Award ‘For the Love of Alpaca’ voted ‘People’s Choice’ with her jacket featuring alpacas on the back.
2016 National Alpaca Show, this years annual show was held in Christchurch. Our black junior male, Jett received 3rd place, Jim was placed 1st in the Junior Light Fawn males, Jinella was placed 6th in the Junior Black Females and Jones was placed 6th the in Junior Brown Males, a very pleasing result.
We were very pleased with our results from the recent 2016 North Island Colourbration, finished fleece product competition at the Waikato Show. Leonie taking away three 1st places, a 2nd and a 3rd along with daughter Kellie also receiving two 1st places, a 2nd and a 3rd in different classes of the competition for machine knitting, hand knitting and felting categories for our beautiful alpaca knitwear garments and homeware products, that we design and make here at Nevalea Alpacas.
The Taumarunui A&P Show’s first alpaca section saw us achieved great results, taking out Champion Brown Huacaya with our alpaca Nevalea Sun-Sawyer. We also took away six first place ribbons on the day along with nine more ribbon placings. A great result in a competitive Huacaya line-up.
We received the Mid Northern District Council ribbon for our organisation of the first Alpaca Section at Taumarunui A&P Show. An enjoyable day was had by all alpaca exhibitors and breeders, some travelling from as far as Christchurch, Napier & Whangarei. The show received glowing appraises from many for how well it was setup and run, we look forward to 2017’s show.
We had a busy day at the Royal Show in Hawkes Bay on Friday. We took 14 alpacas and each received a ribbon, 19 ribbons in total.
